Movement:
Outstanding Antique 23 jewel Elgin 12 size “Holy Grail” movement. Manufactured in 1898. This is Elgin USA highest grade movement. There was only around 1000 of them movements ever produced by Elgin, and was their “showpiece” presentation.

Damaskeen finish.
The term “damaskeening” refers to the technique of decorating or embellishing the plates or bridges of the watch movement with beautiful and intricate engine-applied patterns.

Dial:
2 tone Antique dial, in silver and gold. Engine turned floral like pattern. The center design is finished in radiant gold, this was achieved by using chemically gilded gold. The silver portion has bold black Arabic numbers. Circa 1907. Black Cathedral style hands with luminous tips for easy readability.
